Tragedy of fatherlessness ICMI 2020 Video

This is my speech for the International Conference of Men’s Issues ICMI

It was not held as planed in Sydney. Instead – due to Covid 19 – somewhere in the cosmos.

My topic is the tragedy of fatherlessness, especially in Germany.

This is how it is described:

Bernhard is a German writer and songwriter.

He’s written a number of major novels and many books for children. His recent trilogy is Frau ohne Welt (Women Without World: 1. War On Men. 2. War On Children. 3. War On The Future).

Starting with the misconception of the „querelle des femmes“ in the year 1600 in Venice, he’ll explore some structural flaws of feminism and focus on matters in Germany from after World War 2 to the post-migrant-crisis playground. His topics will include fatherlessness and the totalitarian state, fascism and socialism in recent history, linguistic therapy (Marcuse), men’s rights, fathers‘ duties, current activities. In short: no peace without liberty, no liberty without truth (Jaspers). He says: „You can’t avoid making mistakes. It’s part of the human condition. It’s an indication of a totalitarian system that nevers to having made mistakes. One way out of this dilemma is to provide room for criticism, self-reflection, reasoning, mutual understanding – and humour.“
